Nivada Grenchen , a historic Swiss watchmaker founded in 1926 and known for legendary models such as the “Antarctic,” used by the U.S. Navy during a 1950s expedition to the South Pole, is reviving one of its most beloved designs. Following the successful relaunch of the F77 model in 2023, the brand today presents the new F77 Mark II , an updated and refined version of the integrated sports watch originally created in 1977.

Timeless design, now slimmer

The new F77 Mark II in steel retains the aesthetic DNA of the original, with its characteristic octagonal bezel with eight exposed screws , but introduces even more balanced proportions.
The stainless steel case now measures 38 mm in diameter and 12.2 mm thick —slightly thinner than the 12.65 mm of the 2023 version—with a lug-to-lug length of 46.2 mm, perfect for a modern and versatile wrist. The finish alternates brushed and polished surfaces, while the solid caseback is embellished with the brand's embossed logo.

Protecting the dial is a domed, double-curved sapphire crystal , while water resistance reaches up to 100 meters , confirming the model's sporty vocation. Also new is the integrated three-link bracelet , now more ergonomic and equipped with a quick, tool-free micro-adjustment clasp , as well as perforated bars that make it easier to change the strap.

Minimalist and elegant dial

One of the main aesthetic evolutions concerns the dial, now available in a smooth onyx black that abandons the elaborate textures of previous versions. Applied baton indexes and new Dauphine hands replace the previous, simpler design, while the date window has been eliminated to maintain a cleaner, more balanced aesthetic. The seconds hand has also been redesigned, moving from the classic "lollipop" style to a more sober, straight shape.

The dial is completed by the applied logo under 12 o'clock and an outer minute track with Super-LumiNova dots to ensure readability even in the dark.

Reliable Swiss heart

Under the hood, the new F77 Mark II is powered by the same Soprod P024 automatic movement used in the previous model, a reliable alternative to the ETA 2824-2. This caliber offers 25 jewels , a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and a 38-hour power reserve . Functions include hours, minutes and central seconds with a stop-seconds hand for precise timekeeping.
