Oris once again surprises the watchmaking world with a collaboration that combines Swiss tradition and British creativity: the ProPilot Altimeter “Mission Control ,” born from a collaboration with Bamford Watch Department. This exclusive model exudes an aura of experimentation and boldness, perfectly embodying the spirit of the two brands. At its core is the ProPilot Altimeter, the only watch in the world capable of integrating a Swiss-made automatic mechanical movement with a mechanical altimeter, capable of measuring altitudes up to 19,700 feet. This extraordinary complication is designed not only for pilots but also for hikers and adventurers who want a technical and reliable travel companion on their wrist.

The Mission Control stands out for its carbon fiber composite case, developed in collaboration with 9T Labs, a spin-off of ETH Zurich. This innovative material is two-thirds lighter than titanium yet stronger than many metals, while also ensuring a unique aesthetic, with grain patterns reminiscent of wood grain. The look is not only technological but also sustainable: the production process has a reduced environmental impact and opens up new perspectives for the future of watchmaking.

The design, by George Bamford, exudes energy and personality. Inspiration comes from the colorful sneakers of the '80s, with vibrant yellow, lime, and red accents that not only make the dial more dynamic but also improve readability in all conditions. The 47 mm watch houses the Oris 793 caliber with a 56-hour power reserve, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a patented crown with anti-fog barrier, and a technical fabric strap with leather lining. It's water-resistant to 100 meters, perfect for tackling both the skies and everyday challenges.

The collaboration with Bamford is not simply a stylistic exercise, but a true journey beyond boundaries. As George Bamford explains, the idea was to imagine a watch capable of accompanying a space adventure, an "odyssey" that pushes watchmaking into new territories. It's no coincidence that the Mission Control was presented at the Geneva Watch Days and will be available in just 250 numbered pieces.

More than a watch, the ProPilot Altimeter “Mission Control” is a manifesto: it combines the most advanced Swiss mechanics with a fresh and playful aesthetic, capable of winning over collectors and enthusiasts. A timepiece that looks to the sky, designed for those who dream of going “where no watchmaker has gone before.”
