Those familiar with Seiko know that the Japanese brand loves to innovate without overturning anything, incorporating small details that, to the attentive eye, make all the difference. This time, however, the change is evident at first glance: the new Prospex Diver series introduces an octagonal bezel that breaks with tradition, bringing a breath of originality to one of the brand's most iconic collections.

The shape, while inspired by the octagon, is soft and balanced, with subtle angles that soften its geometry. It's a design that immediately captures attention, without sacrificing the functionality of a professional diver's watch.

The collection debuts in three variations, each with a distinct soul. The dial, decorated with a wave motif reminiscent of the movement of the sea, comes in three shades: an elegant beige, a deep blue, and a warm coffee brown. Each version is accompanied by a color-coordinated bezel, creating visual harmony between the case and dial. The date window, positioned between four and five o'clock, is discreetly integrated, preserving the balance of the design.

The 41.3 mm stainless steel case alternates brushed and polished surfaces, creating a play of light that changes with the angle of the wrist. The slim 12.8 mm thickness ensures a comfortable fit, while the protected crown and screw-down case back with the marine emblem ensure water resistance to 300 meters , making these watches reliable companions both underwater and on land.

Inside beats the Seiko 6R55 automatic movement, with a 70-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour . It's a solid, precise, and built-to-last caliber, featuring a stop-seconds function for accurate timekeeping.

The three-link steel bracelet completes the ensemble with a balanced presence: robust, comfortable and suitable for everyday wear, with a folding clasp and safety pushers for additional protection.

This new interpretation of the Prospex Diver represents a bold step for Seiko. A design that breaks away from classic standards, retaining the essence of a professional instrument while adding a strong, recognizable personality. A watch that will appeal to those seeking reliability, but also a touch of originality on the wrist.
