Cervo Volante

In 2017, biotechnological engineer and experienced entrepreneur Kadri Vunder Fontana, and Conny Thiel-Egenter, a biologist specialising in nature conservation and habitat management, founded Cervo Volante. Their goal was to collect waste products, especially deer skins, and transform them into beautiful, durable, and sustainable footwear and accessories. Their company grew rapidly. A year ago, having heard about the Change for the Better campaign, they contacted Oris to launch a sustainable deer leather strap project. We seized the opportunity.

Cervo Volante’s craftsmanship, low environmental impact, and vision captivated us. Their leather shoes and accessories are not only beautiful but also tell stories that equivalent commercial products would never be able to tell.

For example, they preserve the imperfections that a deer's skin acquires throughout its life and that would be discarded by other companies. These leathers do not come from farming and do not require chemical treatments. If they were not recycled, they would simply be burned. Cervo Volante works with the last two Swiss tanneries that use 100% vegetable tanning processes.
