Launched in 1938, the Big Crown Pointer Date has been in production for over 80 years. Featuring an oversized crown designed for aviators and a pointer calendar, the original example – an icon of Swiss watchmaking and synonymous with beauty, functionality and durability – set the Oris design apart.

Caliber 403
Today, the Big Crown Pointer Date is in the spotlight thanks to the most significant new release in its illustrious history. The updated 38mm model is powered by the Caliber 403, a high-performance automatic movement from Oris' in-house made Caliber 400 Series. The Caliber 403, which already appeared in the 2021 Hölstein Edition produced in 250 examples, is present for the first time in the Oris collection with two complications: the small seconds and the date pointer.
Like every movement in the Caliber 400 Series, the Caliber 403 is highly antimagnetic, featuring a 5-day power reserve, 10-year warranty and 10-year recommended maintenance intervals (sign up to MyOris to extend the warranty to ten years). Its accuracy of -3/+5 seconds per day is equal to that of a stopwatch.
