WATCH DESCRIPTION

The model SSC947P1 is a new addition to the Prospex Speedtimer collection. It is a solar-powered chronograph, driven by the V192 caliber. The case shape is inspired by the original 1964 model, with a new diameter of 41.40 mm. This model is affectionately called the "Pogue," in reference to astronaut William Pogue. On November 16, 1973, he took his Seiko watch with him on a training mission. Although the watch was not NASA-certified for space flights, he still chose to wear his personal timepiece. "I found it very useful for measuring fuel consumption," he shared. During the official mission, Pogue wore his Seiko on his left wrist. This mission, Skylab 4, became the longest ever, lasting 84 days and completing 1,214 orbits around Earth.
