U-Boat Profondo – Extreme Diving Watches

The U-Boat Profondocollection represents one of the most extreme expressions of technical research by Italo Fontana. Comprising only two models, Profondo 10000 MTand Profondo 10001 Limited Edition, it was created with the aim of pushing beyond the limits of normal dive watchmaking, through an imposing construction and extraordinary pressure resistance.

The absolute protagonist is titanium, chosen for its lightness, robustness, and corrosion resistance. The distinctive 46 mmcase, with a 27 mmthickness, houses a domed sapphire crystal of an impressive 9.7 mmand an automatic helium release valve. The patented Locking Ring Systemcontributes to the particular construction of the caseback.

The most impressive feature of the collection is its water resistance up to 10,000 meters and 1,000 ATM, a value that places the Profondo among the most extreme dive watches ever made. The unidirectional titanium bezel and Super-LumiNova treated elements also ensure functionality and legibility in the most difficult conditions.

Inside, we find an automatic Sellita SW 200movement, technically modified according to U-BOAT specifications, with a frequency of 28,800 alternations/hour, 26 jewels, and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The skeletonized and customized rotor completes a mechanism visible through the technical architecture of the timepiece.

The collection also includes a limited and numbered version of only 100 pieces, a further expression of U-BOAT's exclusive approach. The handmade leather strap crafted in Tuscany and the additional titanium bracelet underline the Made in Tuscany character of the Maison.
