The first thing you notice when you put the new Antarctic Diver on your wrist is its presence. The feeling of quality is amplified by the solid weight of the universally proportioned 38 mm diameter (compared to 36.5 mm before) and 12.9 mm thick case. Let’s just say you can confidently wear it on any excursion (diving or otherwise), with plenty of room to spare. Slim, comfortable, built for any occasion – whether exploring a coral reef or attending a cocktail party – it expresses casual-chic style with that vintage charm that commands attention.

As for the overall design of the watch, it looks exactly like the original, complete with aged cream-colored hands and indexes. In keeping with the “revival” style, the Antarctic Diver features a large, easy-to-read black dial that provides a clear backdrop for the markings, all in the same shape and position as the original, including the unmistakable lettering. The bezel allows for precise timekeeping and is easy to use. The date window is located at 3 o’clock. As with the original, the dial features the subtle “cross hairs” sign in red. At the time, the buyer could choose between different versions (red or white crosses; numbers from 1 to 12 on the bezel). This reissue pays homage to the iconic version with the red cross and the minimalist bezel without numbers. The tribute would not be complete without the legendary Nivada Automatic logo at 12 o’clock and the unmistakable vintage-style Antarctic-Diver lettering at 6 o’clock, faithfully recalling the aesthetics of the original. The caseback is engraved with the Antarctic collection's signature emblem: the profile of a penguin, an allegory of the great cold and a tribute to the collection's name.
