Oris returns to the waters of the Big Apple with a project that combines fine watchmaking and environmental commitment. This is the birth of the Aquis Date New York Harbor Limited Edition II , a limited series of just 2,000 pieces created in support of the Billion Oyster Project , the non-profit initiative that aims to reintroduce one billion oysters to New York Harbor by 2035.

A watch symbolizing rebirth

The new timepiece immediately catches the eye with its aquamarine mother-of-pearl dial, reminiscent of the sea's reflections and the texture of oyster shells. This highly appealing aesthetic detail is also a direct tribute to the mission of the project supported by Oris.
The 43.5 mm stainless steel case houses the automatic Oris calibre 733 , with a 41-hour power reserve. A unidirectional rotating bezel , water resistance to 300 metres and two straps – one in steel and one in teal rubber – complete the look.

Billion Oyster Project: A Billion Good Reasons

An adult oyster can filter up to 200 liters of water a day , making an extraordinary contribution to natural purification and creating habitats for numerous marine species. In centuries past, New York Harbor was rich in oyster reefs that ensured balance and biodiversity. However, pollution and overexploitation have almost wiped them out.
Since 2014, the Billion Oyster Project has been working to restore this unique ecosystem. To date, thanks to the contributions of over 15,000 volunteers and 30,000 students , more than 150 million oysters have already been reintroduced.

Clock and commitment

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the New York Harbor Limited Edition II will go toward funding project activities, supporting the construction of new reefs, shell collections, and educational programs.
As Pete Malinowski, co-founder of the Billion Oyster Project, emphasizes: “It's not just about oysters, it's about education, public engagement, and community science. With Oris, we share a vision of a more sustainable future.”
