The processing techniques

Aventurine is a difficult material to tame, precisely because of the copper crystals inserted into the molten glass, which arrange themselves uniformly during the slow cooling process. To create components with a high degree of precision, Aventurine is cold-cut, as if it were a hard stone. Today, production of this material is still very limited due to its complexity and the extensive know-how required.

The history of Aventurine

It is said that in the 14th century, the name "avventurina" derives from the term "avventura," meaning an uncertain and risky operation. In fact, the Venetian glassmakers, who first produced aventurine, did so by accident, pouring copper fragments into a blue vitreous paste. Beginning in 1644, the manufacturing technique was codified, and Venetian aventurine objects quickly became the most prized of the era. The lithograph depicts a visit by the Doge to the workshops on the island of Burano, the production district of this glass.

Stardust

The deep black of aventurine, against which a constellation of tiny fragments of light stands out, evokes the dense mystery of the stars and the darkness of the cosmos. The dial's construction is complemented by ingot-shaped indexes filled with the luminescent pigment Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9.

Produced in the Swiss factories of Soprod SA, the V3250 is an automatic movement based on the architecture of the M100 caliber. The elaborate skeletonization of the new rhodium-plated rotor—designed to further enhance the movement's details—contrasts with the essentiality of the sandblasted decoration of the bridges, giving the V3250 a caliber with a refined and modern aesthetic.
