This new collaborative limited edition of 4,000 pieces combines modern watchmaking art with automotive heritage, with a striking design inspired by 1960s style.
First introduced in 1969 , the Speedtimer represented a milestone in Seiko 's watchmaking tradition of innovation. That same year, Datsun , the flagship sports brand of Nissan Motor Corporation , was also born.
In 1971 , the Datsun 240Z , also known as the Fairlady Z – adorned with the Seiko logo as a sponsor – won the East African Safari Rally , one of the toughest races in the world. The Datsun 240Z shares core values with the Seiko Speedtimer: style, durability, reliability and high performance.
This Speedtimer model incorporates numerous stylistic references to the historic DATSUN 240Z rally car: the color combination , the typeface inspired by the car's dashboard and the DATSUN logo clearly visible on the dial . The case back is engraved with a three-dimensional emblem of the winning car, accompanied by the sequential number of the limited edition . The two-tone aluminum bezel is equipped with a tachymeter for measuring speed.
