With the new Vulcain Cricket Titanium, the Le Locle Maison has created one of the most interesting evolutions in recent years, reinterpreting its icon through one of the most innovative materials in contemporary watchmaking. Not only the case and dial are made of titanium, but the movement itself also adopts structural components in this material, giving life to an extremely rare and technically fascinating project.
Produced in a limited series of just 100 pieces, this new Cricket demonstrates how a legend can continue to evolve without losing its identity.
A Cricket unlike any other
Since the brand's relaunch in 2022 under the leadership of Guillaume Laidet, Vulcain has maintained a strong connection to its historical heritage. Modern Crickets have always respected the aesthetics and philosophy of the original versions, but this new edition introduces a decidedly contemporary twist.
The 39 mm case is made entirely of grade 5 titanium, a material prized for its lightness, corrosion resistance, and high strength-to-weight ratio. The polished surfaces enhance the elegant character of the model and create continuous plays of light that highlight the classic lines of the Cricket.
On the wrist, the watch retains all the refinement of the historical versions, but with superior comfort thanks to the weight reduction guaranteed by titanium.
A guilloché titanium dial
One of the most refined elements of this edition is the dial.
Again, Vulcain chose titanium as the base material, embellishing it with a sophisticated guilloché decoration obtained through stamping. The geometric pattern creates a dynamic surface that constantly changes its appearance depending on the light.
The applied indices and white printed minute track elegantly contrast with the metallic grey background, while the dauphine-inspired skeletonized hands maintain the aesthetic balance typical of the collection.

This is a technical solution rarely adopted in traditional watchmaking and gives this edition a truly unique character.

Despite the technical evolution, the undisputed protagonist remains the famous Cricket alarm.
The Vulcain V14 manual caliber maintains the characteristic system that made the brand famous worldwide. A second independent barrel powers only the alarm function, producing the famous cricket-like sound that gave the collection its name.
When activated, the alarm continues to sound for about twenty seconds, offering one of the most fascinating and engaging mechanical experiences one can find in a wristwatch.

An in-house caliber assembled in Le Locle
The V14 movement is assembled directly at the Vulcain manufacture in Le Locle, one of the historical cradles of Swiss watchmaking.
Manually wound, it operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, a traditional frequency that contributes to the authentic character of the watch. The power reserve dedicated to time measurement reaches approximately 52 hours, while the alarm system has its own independent mainspring.
This mechanical architecture still represents one of the most fascinating and distinctive solutions available in contemporary watchmaking.
